Relentless Hope: The Journey to Zero

Relentless hope that answers persistent poverty.

Our goal is zero

Today, 338 U.S. counties remain in persistent rural poverty. Our goal is zero.

In these counties, at least one in five people have lived below the poverty line for more than thirty years. The next census will likely add more to the list. We are working towards the day the list is zero.

25 years of Together For Hope

The good people are already here.

In every county we serve, the people who can change that place are already living in it. Together For Hope connects them to one another, to resources, and to partners who can help their work grow. The biggest poverty we face is the poverty of trust, and trust is built one relationship at a time.

And they are already doing the work.

Students in Helena, Arkansas, jumped from the 35th to the 90th percentile.

Delta Circles ran a STEM camp with Google that lifted students’ assessment scores more than fifty points.

The campaign

Five Years.

$10 million
Over the past five years, our coalition has grown from 16 members to more than 150 grassroots organizations, and our budget has grown from about $130,000 to $1.3 million. Relentless Hope is a five-year, $10 million campaign, running through our 30th anniversary in 2031, to build on that growth:

Scaling up

Adding staff in every region, including directors under each regional vice president and state managers in our 21 key states, so coalition members have more support in education, health and nutrition, housing and environment, and social enterprise.

Scaling across

Reaching more of the 338 counties (and those that may come), welcoming new member organizations, and building out our newest region in Texas, Tribal Nations, and the Four Corners.

1,500

We are working to grow from 150 to 1,500 coalition members to increase our presence in every county experiencing persistent rural poverty.

Every gift to Together For Hope over the next five years counts toward the goal.
