RISING HOPE

Rising Hope is a cinematic portrait of the Mississippi Delta — and of the people determined to keep hope alive there.

The film follows a former news anchor turned church youth leader. A first-generation college student pursuing photography. Community organizers, town mayors, longtime residents. Through their stories, audiences witness extraordinary personal hardships — and the refusal to internalize the narrative of hopelessness.

Rising Hope doesn't shy away from the conditions that shape the Delta: the state's historically oppressive policies toward Black Mississippians, the loss of tens of thousands of jobs after NAFTA, the long consequences of defunding public education across generations. But the film refuses to define the Delta by what it lacks. This is a place of vibrant voices, deep community, and people who insist on telling their own story.

"We're not gonna let the negative define us."
