Cooperative Christian Ministry joins the Coalition

Together for Hope Appalachia is happy to welcome Cooperative Christian Ministry as a coalition member.

Cooperative Christian Ministry (CCM), Middlesboro, Kentucky, is a non-profit organization working in partnership in service to their community obedient to the words of Christ that we should feed the hungry, welcome the stranger, clothe the naked, visit the sick, and seek out those imprisoned by fear, weakness and lack of opportunity, believe that what we do for the “least of these,” we do for Jesus. CCM provides a number of services including: Food Pantry and hygiene products, utility assistance, emergency relocation program, clothing closet, The Second Chances Thrift Shop, Transient Ministry, Senior Citizen Food Program, medical related assistance, toys for kids at Christmas, referral services.

Eric Martin, serves tirelessly and compassionately as Executive Director of CCM. Everyone is treated with respect and dignity. Eric remembers that when he was a child his family at times relied on similar kinds of assistance. He says that he will never forget a time when all of the family Christmas present presents were stolen out of their car on a Christmas shopping trip. The community replaced all of their stolen presents and more. Eric brings that kind of empathy to his work every day. Eric is not alone in this work as he is assisted by paid staff and many volunteer workers who devote countless hours to the multiple ministries of CCM.
