Ways to Give

Give Through a Donor-Advised Fund

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a charitable giving account held by a sponsoring organization: you contribute to it, take your tax deduction that year, and then recommend grants to the charities you care about over time. If you have a DAF, you can recommend a grant to Together For Hope through your fund’s sponsor — a national giving fund, a community foundation, or a faith-based foundation.

Why give this way

How to make your gift

  1. Log in to your DAF account or contact your fund’s sponsor.
  2. Search for Together For Hope by our EIN, 87-0835491. If we don’t appear, add us: Together For Hope, 2906 North State Street, Suite 300, Jackson, MS 39216.
  3. If you would like your grant to support a specific region, write it in the grant purpose field: Appalachia, Black Belt, Delta, or Tribal Nations/Texas/Four Corners. Otherwise, write “general support.”
  4. Choose to share your name and address with us so we can thank you, and email natalie@tfhope.org to let us know your grant is on its way.

Good to know

  • Because you took your deduction when you funded your DAF, you won’t receive a tax receipt for the grant. We will still send a letter of thanks.
  • DAF grants can’t be used for anything that gives you a benefit in return, such as event tickets, a Gala table, or sponsorship benefits.
  • If you would like to use your DAF toward a pledge, please check with your fund’s sponsor first, since each sponsor has its own rules.
  • Sponsors process grants on their own schedules, which can take a few weeks. For year-end giving, we recommend submitting your grant recommendation by early December.
