Education

Building toward opportunity,
not just literacy

From early childhood to adult education, and from the classroom to the statehouse.

Cradle to career

Education work across the Together for Hope coalition spans a wide range, from early childhood programs to adult education, and from classroom instruction to policy advocacy for the public schools that rural communities depend on.
On the Ground

Where the work is happening

  • Delta Circles, in partnership with Google, ran a STEM camp that lifted student assessment scores from the 35th to the 90th percentile, proof that the right investment can close gaps quickly.
  • The New Opportunity School for Women in Berea, Kentucky, helps Appalachian women facing addiction, abuse, and isolation return to education. One participant, after two decades of struggle, completed the program and enrolled in college that same year, making the Dean’s List in her first semester.
  • Pastors for Children in Kentucky, Florida, and North Carolina advocate for well-funded public schools, working to keep state education dollars in public classrooms rather than diverted to vouchers and charters.
  • SEED Camp in Perry County, Alabama, brought seven churches together for a week of concentrated volunteer support across two local schools.
