Regions

Hundreds of counties.
One coalition.

Places the USDA has designated as persistently poor for more than thirty years.

Together for Hope works in hundreds of U.S. counties across 30 states, places the USDA has designated as persistently poor for more than thirty years. Roughly six million people call these counties home.

Our Four Regions
Locally Led

Four regions, each led by someone who lives there

We organize this work through four regions, each led by a Regional Vice President who lives in and is rooted in the community they serve.

Appalachia

Dozens of counties across Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee, Virginia, and Ohio
Appalachia is diverse, vibrant, and abundant in resources, but it also carries a distinct set of challenges: historic flooding, the opioid crisis, rising cancer rates, and decades of economic decline. Together for Hope Appalachia works from the conviction that the region’s people, land, and labor history are strong enough to meet those challenges.
Where the Work is Happening
  • Extreme Build, in partnership with CBF Kentucky, has built 19 homes for families in McCreary and Owsley Counties, two of the original 20 counties TFH was founded to serve.
  • Partnership Housing in Owsley County has secured $7.1 million in funding to build and rehabilitate homes after two consecutive years of historic flooding.
  • EDGE (Economic Development Greater East) in McDowell County, West Virginia, is building land access and entrepreneurship pathways in agriculture, tourism, and renewable energy, work that helped launch Appalachian Gold, a Black-owned enterprise built in partnership with TFH.
  • The New Opportunity School for Women in Berea, Kentucky, helps women facing addiction, abuse, and isolation rebuild their lives through education.

Black Belt

Coalition members across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina
  • Sowing Seeds of Hope in Perry County, Alabama, has helped 20 families achieve homeownership through the USDA’s Self-Help Housing program.
  • SEED Camp, a partnership with Alabama CBF, brought seven churches together for a week of service across two Perry County schools.
  • Building Hope Weekend mobilized 120 volunteers across Alabama and South Carolina, completing five home repairs and six wheelchair ramps for local homeowners.

Delta

Serving the Mississippi Delta and surrounding counties
The Delta region has some of the deepest and longest-running partnerships in the TFH coalition, and it shows in the results. Together for Hope has served thousands of families across the Mississippi Delta, with new families joining every year.
Where the Work is Happening
  • Delta Circles in Helena, Arkansas, partnered with Google on a STEM camp that lifted student assessment scores from the 35th to the 90th percentile. Its Women Increasing Net-worth program helps Black women build savings and raise their credit scores.
  • Delta Hands for Hope in Shaw, Mississippi, started with 25 kids at a single summer camp in 2014. It now runs a youth leadership program that logged 1,500 volunteer hours in 2025 alone.
  • FABRIC Inc. in Cleveland, Mississippi, has grown into a hub for community development and housing innovation.
  • A Better Way Grocers is expanding food access through mobile grocery service in communities without a nearby store.

Tribal Nations, Texas & Four Corners (TNT4C)

Serving Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Nebraska, Alaska
This is TFH’s newest and most geographically expansive region, extending the coalition’s work into Native lands, Texas, and the high desert Southwest.
Where the Work is Happening
  • New Wine Church in La Feria, Texas, was founded in 1999 and has since planted congregations in colonias along the border and launched a nonprofit to serve those communities. Its members have also hosted neighborhood medical clinics for families without access to affordable care.
  • FaithWorks (formerly Fellowship Southwest), based in Dripping Springs, Texas, connects churches across five states and northern Mexico. A Lilly Endowment grant is helping it equip congregations for immigration and border ministry with coaching and seed funding.
  • CBF Oklahoma in Norman has spent more than a decade building partnership with three Native American congregations in western Oklahoma, including bringing a 75-student volunteer team to work alongside all three churches.
